Curiosity: Layers, layers, layers…

Wind has probably swept through Marias Pass removing most of the surface dust, and a bewildering array of thin rock layers, like spilled slate shingles, now lies exposed before Curiosity. The lower slopes of Mt. Sharp are just visible in the distance at left. (Click to load a larger version of the image, which is a composite made from three Navcam images.)
