Sol 4267-8, January 25-26, 2016. A composite of three false-color Pancam images (by Holger Isenberg) portrays the low ridge lying just east and downslope from Opportunity. The color differences and misalignment at the shadow’s edge (seen clearly at left and center) reflect both the setting Sun and the approximately 3 minutes it took for the Pancam to sequence through its standard set of four color-filtered frames to make one color image. The last frame on the right comes from Sol 4268 because Pancam frames taken the day before did not all get downloaded to Earth. Click to enlarge.
