MARCI weather report, May 9-15, 2016

releaseimg_160509_160515Continued widespread dust activity on Mars this past week. The arcuate shaped polar dust storm mentioned in the previous week propagated eastward to Utopia before subsiding into a diffuse dust cloud. Meanwhile, in the southern hemisphere, local-scale dust storms and condensate water-ice clouds were spotted in many regions along the seasonal south polar ice cap edge. The lower latitudes also experienced some dust storms as dust-lifting activity in Hellas pushed northward over Tyrrhena. [More at link, including video]
