After a week of busy orbit determinations and reconstructions, the MAVEN navigation team has reported that the 6th Deep Dip campaign of the mission has been a success.
During the latest Deep Dip, Mars’ atmospheric density varied widely, from a low concentration of 2 kg/km³ to a maximum near 7 kg/km³. Seven maneuvers were executed by the navigation team in order to maintain an orbit within the targeted density corridor of Mars’ upper atmosphere. [More at link]
