THEMIS: Crater gullies in Tempe Fossae

Gullies in Tempe Fossae (THEMIS_IOTD_20160810)THEMIS Image of the Day, August 10, 2016. Today’s VIS image shows parts of two craters located at the southern end of Tempe Fossae. There are numerous gullies dissecting the inner rim of the crater at the top of the image. Gullies are not seen in the bottom crater. In addition the crater at the top has been filled to a uniform level with material and the rim has been eroded. These features are not seen in the bottom crater, indicating that the bottom crater is relatively younger than the top crater.
