Sol 1428, August 12, 2016. Like a snow-covered mountain rising behind foothills, Mt. Sharp stands above one of the Murray Buttes in the foreground in this left-side Navcam image.
The “snow” on Mt. Sharp comes from the reddish dust on its surface, which is brightened by the Navcam’s red-sensitive imaging, produced by a trio of filters. (Click image to enlarge it.)
