MARCI weather report: November 7-13, 2016

marci-8-nov-2016Martian weather this past week was little changed from the previous week. A larger diffuse dust cloud persisted at high south latitudes throughout the week. The cloud was sustained by daily, local dust storms coming north from the seasonal south polar cap edge. Across the equator in the northern hemisphere, transient local dust storms were noted in Acidalia and Amazonis. Afternoon condensate ice clouds were mostly absent over the major shield volcanoes with the exception of Arsia Mons, the southernmost volcano of the Tharsis…. [More at link, including video]
