Curiosity: Mastcam looks afar

1873-mastcam34Sol 1873, November 12, 2017. Using the 34mm lens, Curiosity’s Mastcam took a sequence showing the buttes and mesas that line the horizon (left side). These rise above a prominent grayish layer.

However, before the rover can explore more closely the layer and the hills behind, it will need to finish up on Vera Rubin Ridge. Then it will drive down off the ridge into a small valley which lies between it and the hills and mesas beyond. Click the image to enlarge it.
