THEMIS Image of the Day, April 11, 2016. This VIS image shows part of an unnamed crater in Amazonis Planitia. The radial nature of the emplaced ejecta can be seen at the edge of the ejecta. It is somewhat unusual that the crater ejecta has such an abrupt margin with a large elevation difference from the surrounding plains. Craters with this type of ejecta are often called pedestal craters.
