Sol 1321, April 24, 2016. Curiosity’s drill has put a hole into the target outcrop dubbed Lubango.
The top MAHLI image takes a close look into the hole, right down to the bottom, while the lower image shows the hole’s surroundings. Note how light in color the drill tailings are compared to the reddish-toned rock surface. (Both images enlarge when clicked.)
