MARCI weather report, May 2-8, 2016

releaseimg_160502_160508Dust storm activity picked up this last week on Mars. At the beginning of the week, a couple local-scale dust storms were spotted near the edge of the north polar ice cap, over Acidalia and Olympia. By mid-week, a more wide-ranging, arcuate-shaped polar storm developed, propagating southward over Acidalia and eastward along the polar ice cap edge in the following sols. Dust storms over the southern highlands also became more extensive towards the end of the week, obscuring parts of Sirenum, Aonia… [More at link, including video]
