THEMIS: Dark slope streaks

Sabaea slope streaks (THEMIS_IOTD_20160519)THEMIS Image of the Day, May 19, 2016. Today’s image shows an unnamed crater in Terra Sabaea. There are numerous dark streaks visible on the inner rim of the crater. These streaks are thought to form due to down slope movement of a rock or other material which removes or disturbs the surface dust revealing the darker rock surface.
