THEMIS: What is filling Terby Crater?

Debris filling Terby Crater (THEMIS_IOTD_20160916)THEMIS Image of the Day, September 16, 2016. Today’s false color image shows part of Terby Crater, which has thick sediments filling much of its interior. These sediments should preserve a long record of Martian history, possibly including a time when the planet may have had life. The THEMIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image.
