Opportunity: Cape Byron in view

4664-pancamSol 4664, March 8, 2017. As Opportunity drove in reverse over a smooth rise, Cape Byron, the next rim-segment toward the south came into view. In this three Pancam frame composite, the flat plains of Meridiani lie to the right (southwest), while to the left of Cape Byron the Endeavour Crater rim curves around to the southeast. On the horizon to the southeast, made hazy by dust, lie barely visible hills and rims of distant craters. Click image to enlarge it.

Opportunity raw images, its latest mission status, a location map, and atmospheric opacity, known as tau.
