Curiosity checks out rocks at the north end of the Kimberley outcrop: strata (top of image) dip south. Many hollows and crevices in the outcrop have trapped windblown sand and dust. This effectively cloaks pieces of rock and sediments that broke off from the layers and fell close to it. Pieces that landed farther away (bottom and right) are less blanketed.
