Sol 3887, December 30, 2014. The rover’s multi-band Pancam imaged two rock outcrops near the summit of Cape Tribulation, Nellie Bly (top) and Kate Rice. On the horizon beyond the Nellie Bly outcrop lies one of Endeavour Crater’s eastern rim segments, 22 kilometers (14 miles) away. Both color images were created by Holger Isenberg using filtered Pancam frames; the Rice outcrop image below shows true color.
The outcrops’ namesakes were an American journalist (Bly), and a Canadian prospector (Rice).
