MARCI weather report, May 11-17, 2015

releaseimg_150511_150517There was a small uptick in local storm activity in the southern high latitudes of Mars last week. These transient storms were observed in the southern areas of Sirenum, Noachis, and Promethei. Local dust storms and optically thick water-ice clouds were spotted along the north polar seasonal ice cap edge throughout the week. Lee wave clouds, known for their ripple appearance were observed in the north, trailing behind crater rims and ridges. Further towards the north pole… [More at link, including video]
