Sol 1316, April 19, 2016. The ChemCam’s Remote Micro-Imager shot a five-frame composite showing what appears to be a canyon or pathway between several buttes. This lies in the general direction toward which the rover will be driving.
Below, the wider scene was captured from a slightly different viewpoint by the Mastcam (in 34mm mode) back on Sol 1302; the arrow points to the canyon between the buttes seen above. (Click the images to enlarge them.)
