Water-ice cloud abundance intensified over the tropics of Mars this past week. Central Terra Cimmeria and the highlands south of Solis experienced a couple of local-scale dust storms over the course of the week. Looking to the northern plains, a large dust storm expanded over Utopia Planitia for a couple sols while arcuate-shaped storm fronts propagated southeast over Acidalia. Small short-lived dust events were also spotted over Arcadia and Amazonis. The edge of the seasonal north polar ice cap retreated to ~65°N latitude by the end of the week… [More at link, including video]
