For the past week on Mars, the northern plains continued to be an area of sparse dust storm activity, which is typical for this time of the summer season. Further equator ward, the aphelion cloud-belt was prominent in the afternoon sky, while small transient dust storms were spotted northwest of Elysium Mons shield volcano and to the east of Valles Marineris.
