If the slopes of Mount Sharp (background at left) seem to change only slightly as one sol follows another, it’s due in part to the rover’s course. This is paralleling the northeast-southwest trend of the mound. Curiosity must follow that path as it needs to drive southwest toward a gap in the Bagnold Dune Field leading to the mound.
