MARCI weather report, June 27-July 3, 2016

releaseimg_160627_160703As Mars quickly approaches the Autumnal Equinox in the northern hemisphere, large arcuate-shaped dust storms swept eastward across the northern plains, keeping the north polar region dusty for another week. Across the southern hemisphere, storm activity was less active than in previous weeks. Mid-week, dust storms in the north propagated southward across Utopia for a couple sols. During that time, local-scale dust storms were spotted over Terra Sirenum. Further to the west, short-lived dust storms occurred over Noachis along the seasonal south polar ice cap edge. At mid-to-low latitudes, both Elysium and Pavonis Mons experienced small transient dust storms… [More at link, including video]
